Since its launch in 2006, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle introduced the Dongfeng Kinglong heavy-duty truck. Upon its release, the vehicle quickly became the preferred product in the domestic transportation market due to its characteristics of “high reliability, high safety, high efficiency, and low self-weight.”

With a history of 13 years to date, cumulative sales have exceeded 760,000 units, setting a sales miracle for a single brand. Moreover, thanks to the rising sales of the Dongfeng Kinglong, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle has become a pioneer in the heavy-duty truck industry since 2011.

The increasing sales have been driven by the trust of a vast number of customers. More and more customers have entrusted their aspirations for a happy life to the Dongfeng Kinglong, while many others have relied on Dongfeng to build wealth and expand their businesses. The Dongfeng Kinglong has also become a benchmark model in the domestic heavy-duty truck market, earning widespread acclaim from users both at home and abroad.

On August 20, 2017, the DDi75 engine, jointly developed by Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles and Volvo, was launched. The Dongfeng DDi75 series of new-generation diesel engines are high-performance engines developed by Dongfeng in collaboration with Volvo, targeting international cutting-edge technology. Focusing on emission requirements and adopting new combustion technologies, these engines feature fuel efficiency, powerful performance, reliability, and intelligence.

On September 14 of the same year, another key powertrain construction project—the Dongfeng VT14-speed transmission—officially entered mass production. Based on Volvo’s technology platform, the Dongfeng VT14-speed transmission was developed for domestic production, featuring fuel efficiency, lightweight design, and smooth shifting. Primarily installed in Dongfeng Tianlong series heavy-duty trucks, it enhances the series’ power and climbing capability.

In April 2018, Dongfeng’s intelligent connected trucks conducted their first road tests at the Wuhan Technology Center campus, followed by practical operational tests in ports, achieving expected goals. Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles is currently collaborating with customers to explore and trial the demonstration operations of intelligent connected trucks in scenarios such as public roads and enclosed construction sites, further validating the value of intelligent connectivity technology for customers.

In the same month, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles partnered with the internationally renowned technology company Delphi Technologies to develop commercial vehicle fuel system technologies, committed to driving efficient industry development and promoting innovative transformations in the future of transportation.
